The Course

6
Hole Half Moon
Yards 408 394 409
Par 4 4 5
SI 5 5 7
This left dogleg is made easier with a well-placed tee shot offering a simple approach on to one of the more receptive greens. Driving left brings trees into play.

7
Hole Birkett's
Yards 368 366 333
Par 4 4 4
SI 1 1 1
The men's tee is elevated, needing a long well placed drive to avoid a cluster of bunkers on the left and to give you a view of the pin. A bunker on its left hand side hidden from the fairway protects the hole, whilst the ground falls away sharply on the right which is also bunkered.

8
Hole Sandy Herd
Yards 161 156 135
Par 3 3 3
SI 15 15 17
This par three looks one of the easiest holes on the course but is surrounded by bunkers. In calm conditions most golfers should achieve a par but when the wind blows beware.

9
Hole Chapel Island
Yards 353 341 311
Par 4 4 4
SI 11 11 9
The last hole on the outward stretch is a relatively easy par four rising to splendid views over Morecambe Bay. Too long with your second shot and a tricky pitch awaits to a sloping green. The photograph is taken from behind the 8th green and looks up the fairway towards the pin situated on the top of the hill.

10
Hole Homeward
Yards 139 138 129
Par 3 3 3
SI 18 18 18
The third par three has a tiered green that can be very awkward if missed - especially if you shoot long and have to putt back down the hill. Fairway bunkers will trap a poor tee shot.
