The challenge begins with a blind tee shot over the marker post into a moderately narrow fairway. Out of bounds threatens any golfer who slices the ball short, with a stand of trees awaiting the longer fade. A good shot is rewarded with an open approach to the green, but one that requires accuracy in length as the pin is set on a tiered green. |

This is a short par four of just over 300 yards. It features a tricky tee shot between the trees with a second shot to a well bunkered raised green. At stroke index 14, this hole can prove difficult in high winds and can easily be underestimated by the visitor. |

At around 400 yards, this is one of the most difficult holes on the course. The second shot requires accuracy in every respect, being protected by a well-placed bunker and mature trees to the sides and rear. Once on the green the line of the putt is not always straightforward. |

The first par five is daunting from the men's competition tee, with the out of bounds looming on the front right, and an avenue of trees to negotiate with the drive. A good drive is rewarded with a wide fairway offering a downhill run as shown in the photograph. Big hitters can reach the green in two, but only with the right conditions. Again, once on the green, the line tests the most proficient putter. |

The first par three is a picturesque hole played over a valley with the green protected at either side by bunkers. There is every chance of a birdie with a good tee shot, but, as with all the five opening holes, a slice or hook can punish the wayward golfer. |
